Hi, my name is Jeff and I am new to this board. I decided to come onto this board for two reasons. The first so I could gain some knowledge on performance modifications for the contours and SVT contours belonging to my customers. Second to find anyone interested in attending a dyno day gtg. I have hosted several dyno day gtg?s so far and they are always a big success and everyone has a good time. I mostly hang out at focaljet, but I am branching out to other Ford performance car and truck sites. Here is some quick info on the Dyno Day GTG.

It will be on Saturday, July 13th. Starting at 10 AM and running the whole day till about 5 or 6 PM that night. The dyno I use is a Dynojet 248C chassis dynomometer. The shop for the gtg is in South Amboy NJ. I run two groups on the dyno. Group 1 is for cars just looking to make dyno pulls only, on average you will get 3-5 pulls and some cool down time in between. You will also get a print showing all of your runs on it.
Group 2 is the tuning group, just about anything can be done in the tuning group from installing a chip to cam gear tuning, etc. Pretty much whatever you want to try different on your car while on the dyno would fall into this group. There is no price difference between the groups. We also can run a wideband O2 sensor to gauge your A/F ratio.
As of today the price for attending the gtg is $ 55.00 per car. The more cars we get the lower the price can go. It could get as low as $ 40.00 per car if a few more show up. This is a great deal. Call around and check prices on dyno time, they are usually around $ 75.00 for 2-3 pulls and tuning exceeds $ 100.00 an hour. If you are interested and want more info. feel free to post here or e-mail or PM me. Thanks for taking the time to check this out and hope to hear from some of you.
People from NY, NJ, PA, MD and DE have attended the gtg's in the past. One of your own, I think his name is Jessman on here, from MD attended the last one and can attest to how much fun the gtg is.

What if I want some tuning time? Last time I tuned, it took 2 hours, including installing and removing the wideband O2 - about 9 runs total. I assume Crazy Horse has a lift, but I didn't see one in the vids I watched from the last meet you guys had. I can't imagine that's going to cost $40 or $55, right? More like an hourly charge?

Crazy Horse's old shop had three lifts, so I can only assume their new place has them as well. They do everything there, so they would need to have a lift.

They do have lifts but the owner doesn't want alot of people running around his shop un- supervised, it's usually only the two of us there on dyno days.
What would you guys need lifts for?
What kind of tuning needs do you have? Let me know what you'd like to do and I will find a way to accomodate.

Also, when I have tuned cam gears I usually can do one car in about 30-45 minutes with approx. 5-7 runs. Like I said just let me know what you all need!

Ever fitted a wideband O2 to a Contour? Need to put it on a lift to get access to the Bank 2 Upstream O2 sensor (Bank 1 is out of the question). Pulling the oil filter makes things easier (another reason for using a lift).

Total time was probably an hour tuning (shop was empty besides me, so we let it cool after every 3 runs), and then another hour for wideband O2 on/off (mostly to let the exhaust cool enough so you could get near it).

They also have an A/F ratio meter that runs in your tailpipe, similar to the sniffer test. We compared readings and they were identical. No need to get under your car and all that.

I'd have to see your test methods before I would be convinced, no offense. (Engineer and all ...) I have trouble believing that exhaust gases will give the same readings after being scrubbed by 2 different cats. Otherwise the front and rear on car O2's would have the same reading at all times, which they don't. Also, I'd like to measure the exhaust as close to the engine as possible rather than out the back in order to be able to more accurately match RPM with A/F reading.

Not trying to bust your stones, but I'm not sold on the tailpipe sniffer for A/F tuning. Others have used it and tell me it's OK, but I prefer the (unfortunately more difficult) way. Engineers like to be difficult - a common personality trait for us. wink

Unfortunately, we don't have that kind of time to mess with installing a true wideband O2 in cars at the gtg. Why would you want to run it anyway if I may ask? Unless you have some kind of forced induction it isn't really necessary unless you are just curious.

PA 3L SVT, you mentioned spending 2 hours tuning the last time. What were you doing and what results did you see?
