I do the two bucket method, one bucket of soapy water and wash up the entire car. Another bucket of clean water and pour it on to wash off. I haven't mastered the technique yet, I'm down to 2 3/4 buckets.
I'm pretty sure that is legal during the restrictions.
The car must be cool and out of sunlight and I really only wash it up before going to an autox or TT.
