Nope, even the guys at Ford of Tulsa admitted the flush is what killed my ATX. They offer the flush service, but still reccomend drain-and-fill to anyone who asks. That's what I call scary!
What happens is that any particles in the system get stirred up during the fluid churning. The gunk that dosen't escape the ATX case gets into places it REALLY dosen't belong, thereby destroying torque convertors and servos. Also, be prepared to replace seals and gaskets after a flush. The pressure will open up leaks "clogged" by gunk and breaks brittle seals. My Maxima leaked like a sieve after its flush. 6K miles later the tranny died.
