I should be down with the 30th. I am planning on hitting the dyno on the 29th to tune my S-AFC.

Yeah seriously... We can always meet up at Perkins in Allentown, then from here it's about 1/2 hour! But it's below 45, I don't think I could do it without some purchasing of better gloves and a thicker balaclava.

You, my friend, are missing out!! laugh smile Check out http://www.apriliausa.com/ridezone/ing/models/ridefr.htm and look at the superbikes! Or the Sportbikes... whichever you like! That SHOULD answer any questions! smile Performance on par (and sometimes better) than a Ducati but with Japanese reliability (except Suzuki - DOH! laugh :)) and build quality.

Is it settled? Reading? When is good for everyone else? 30Dec ok? List some good locales to meet and we'll decide.

Well, if we do decide to go to Hooters, we can meet at Perkins on Lehigh Street in Allentown, then go to Reading from there. I was thinking about Stan750 on the bike and meeting there as a rest stop - but I keep forgetting that E. Stroudsburg is up near Pen Argyl, right? That would be cool too if you wanted to meet down here! Let me know and I'll post directions.

Post directions, a good time to meet at perkins, giving people a window in which time we will leave by, w/ or w/o them, and a final destination. I tink PA3L is in, too. We're going to do our latest mods B-4 we show.
Which one would you recommend for someone who hasn't ridden in a while, I might drop it a couple of times. laugh Kidding, I already have a "tosser" bike.

Ok but one quick question, are we still doing this on the 30th? I want to make sure I can make it first too!

As for twins... Here are my picks:

Suzuki TL-R - Cheap fun, good beginner big bike for the track. Little heavy and dated though - I think.

Honda RC-51 - If you can sort out the front suspenion, it's a great bike - but also a little heavy (I think). I hear it pushes a bit in the turns but for backroads and what not, great bike.

Ducati 996 - If you got the money, want attention, and/or run the track (but you'll need even MORE money!) - this is it. But I constantly read about build quality and maintenance. I shouldn't say too much, never got a chance to speak to an owner of one directly yet.

Aprilia RSV Mille - Italian soul, awesome power (tons of Torque) and excellent build. Japanese-like quality and not expensive at all to maintain. May not have the sex appeal of the Ducati, and some complain about the dash layout being a bit too "Trekkie" - but it will hang with just about anything out there. For any extra $3-$4,000, you can get the Mille R (which is where the Ducati 996 SPS is priced - usually higher) and you'll get Ohlins Front/Rear along with Carbon Fiber bits. (996SPS only on the rear- If I remember correctly)

Admittingly, I am biased. But most people will tell you the same thing! laugh smile

Magazines and online tests should never be taken at face value - but they're definitely a good place to start. Especially if you go through a whole bunch of them.

Well fellas, I got to check with the wife and solidify my plans for departure, but it looks as though I might still be here for the 30th. I think I might hit the dyno with PA 3L on the 29th anyways. You guys come up with a plan, and I'll see what I can do...........
