In the new ads, someone says "It's so good looking!"

I hate the following car's looks: 1. Aztec 2. Eagle AWD Wagon/Sedan 3. PT Cruiser 4. Any hoopty made in the late 70's/early 80's 5. Latest Toyotas (Avalon, Camry, Corolla) I love the following: 1. Infinity G35, Caddy CTS, Lexus IS300 2. Any Lamborghini 3. Most any Ferrari 4. Post-98 Contour 5. Any Mercedes (6. Focus) And just for the record, I hate Ford. I love my Contour but Ford drops the ball almost every time they get a leg up. They are the automotive world's equivalent to the KC Cheifs. Why in the world can't they build a decent, reliable car that is also fun to drive? My Aspire is fairly reliable, but it's built by Kia and isn't fun to drive, not to mention it is a death-box. My poor Contour is so fun to drive and look at, but I keep dropping money on it just to keep it on the road. I sure hope Ford turns it around. GM is a horrid company (especially lately) and imports are overpriced. I'd love to buy a Focus or SHO Taurus (sorry, wishful thinking there) as my next car but I'm just too scared to do it.
1998 Contour Sport V6, Black *Cold air induction *Powdercoated intake manifold (more powdercoating coming soon) *Blue headlights, foggies, and signals (no reflectors) *CEG stickers & removed door moldings -------------------------------- 1994 Ford Aspire 4-door, looks like a big egg *64 hp 4-cyl *5 speed *"13 steel rims with go-cart tires *74 mph top speed *I'm going to auto-x the thing (but not compete)

I don't know how it took 27 posts for it to come up BUT....
NUMBER ONE: Dodge Rampage... you have to see one in person to truly fathom the horrid atrocity of design that is this automobile. Without a doubt the nastiest car ever built. Almost a crime. 2-Aztek 3-The II car... Mustang II, Duesenberg II, Bronco II, etc. 4- Isuzu Vehi-cross... again, how has this not come up yet? 5-Ferrari Mondial/Lamborghini Jalpa... completely undeserving of these Italian badges... undeserving even of a Korean badge

A guy I used to work for has a '62 valiant. It has swoopy curves, a great big radiator grille, HORIZONTAL tailfins, a two-tone roof, and pushbutton automatic transmission. He says its slant-six developed nice pull and yet got 25 MPG, which is damn impressive for those days, if true. That car is now old enough that it's probably worth $3000 even in rough condition. It hasn't run for years, but all it needs is some brake work, tires, and a battery. By '68 the Valiant looked like any other boxy generic car. I don't know what a '65 looked like.

I guess my list would be: -- the Aztek -- the new Nissan pickup (the auto equivalent of a '90s Mr. Potatohead basketball shoe that consists mostly of decorative stick-ons) -- Suzuki's two-seat SUVs (true burst-out-laughing looks) -- the eighties Seville (I hate the boxy flat slab look, and putting a Gremlin rear end on that giant slab is a catastrophe) -- almost every car made in Detroit from about 1969 to 1983. Detroit just went into total denial about how bad their cars were, until finally the imports bankrupted Chrysler. Then they at least started to make an effort. (Especially an effort to raise tarriffs, which is what persuaded Nissan, Toyota, et al to move their factories here.)

Ooooooh, just thought of a few more: 1. 1973 Pontiac Grand Am(looks like a giant electric shaver) 2. 1972 Buick Riviera(love child of a Electra 225 and a 1964 Corvette) 3. 1983 Mercury Cougar(what's up with those Gremlin-esque quarter windows?) 4. 1987 Mercury Cougar(how could you restyle a car to look worse ?) 5. New BMW Z3 Coupe(pug-ugly, but I still want one)
Cars ruined by US mandated bumper laws in 1974: 1. MGB(can you say "rubber baby buggy bumpers" real fast?) 2. Chevy Camaro(Huge cow-catcher bumpers ready for battle)
More nominees for lameness: 1. 1979 Pinto sport wagon(you know, the one with the mini-custom van styling:port holes, rear window louvers, wild paint schemes- from the factory! ) 2. 1978 Mustang II Cobra II(with billboard side stripes) 3. 1980 Corvette(Not ugly, but Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Would you believe these performance numbers-0 to 60 in 7.6 secs, quarter mile in 15.9 secs, top speed 123 mph, and 14 mpg, all with a 190 horsepower 350! The ultimate white-shoes-and-belt car.)
Martin 2000 Contour SE V6 ATX Med Steel Blue Metallic\Greystone interior Mods: SVT grill(insert painted aluminum), foglight mod, amber reflectors removed, gas bonnet lifters, 2nd horn installed, 2001 Focus 16" rims, Knauberized, debadgerized, pre-98 sail panels, Bullitt fuel door, A6 sidemarkers, K&N air filter, TH fix, Flowmaster\glasspack exhaust, clock recontent, trunk release bezel recontent, Mystique rear dome light, express-open sunroof, Ford accessory rubber floor mats, Ford accessory door threshold protectors.

"almost every car made in Detroit from about 1969 to 1983"
Huh? 1969-70 was the height of the muscle car era ans some collectable cars from those two years are worth over $50,000. Go to any old car show and what do you see? Also, GM's '77 B body was indestructable, ask any cab driver.
1980 Corvettes were slow, but then what was fast that year? Cars were supposed to turn into appliances in the 80's based on pessimistic predictions.
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO. Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!
