A guy I used to work for has a '62 valiant. It has swoopy curves, a great big radiator grille, HORIZONTAL tailfins, a two-tone roof, and pushbutton automatic transmission. He says its slant-six developed nice pull and yet got 25 MPG, which is damn impressive for those days, if true.
That car is now old enough that it's probably worth $3000 even in rough condition. It hasn't run for years, but all it needs is some brake work, tires, and a battery.
By '68 the Valiant looked like any other boxy generic car. I don't know what a '65 looked like.
