Hey my first car was a tempo, it wasn't that bad. Was cheap to run and fix. and with some TLC it didn't look to bad.

They had one of those Renalt 5 turbos on Ebay a while back. Grey market since I don't think Renault ever imported the rear engined version to the US. Sweet little car.

Personally I don't like any of your choices -- but then again it's an opinion right? I even actually like your first four choices in terms of style... the Taurus is your worst looking car ever?? I also noticed your worst cars are (for the most part) Fords. Do we have a GM-lover-Ford-basher at a Ford enthusiast website here? :p IMO: Worst (no order, late 80s+ vehicles only): 1) Chevy Celebrity & original 80s Cavalier 2) new Monte Carlo (only the front end though) 3) Chrysler LeBaron 4) Chrysler PT Cruiser 5) Pontiac Aztec (great car, bad styling) Best (in order): 1) anything Mercedes built since '88 (can you tell I want one ) 2) Audi A4 & A6; VW Passat 3) BMW M-series 4) 98+ Ford Contour 5) Pontiac Grand Prix (exterior only; no points for that ugly dash) I'm sure there's better but I'm not thinking hard enough now.

SO I came back...so sue me. The other Contour website is ALOR worse than this (Noone helps there) I'm not a Ford basher, Ive just grown up with my fair share of cars, Ford, GM, European, Japanese, everything, and the Ford/Japanese cars were the most trouble. I simply said that the Mystique/Contour twins are the ONLY Ford product I have liked, and it's the ONLY American car that can even come CLOSE to the ride/handling balance of my mom's 540, and it's still way off..but like I said, it's the CLOSEST that America has ever been to BMW. Yes, I DO think the Taurus is the ugliest car, it has no style whatsoever. It's just a giant bubble (although it's MUCH better than the 1996-1999) The Focus is ugly, but atleast Ford took a gamble there, and it actually helped them. Although I'm mad at Ford for calling the Focus a "Escort/Contour replacement". That car dosent come CLOSE to the Contour, but it IS the best small car out there (Besides Jetta...but the Focus dosent cost 25K neither) Ford has had good vehicles, and it has had bad ones too. Sadly, my family has woned most of the bad ones (1990 Bronco II Eddie Bauer, 1991 Explorer Eddie Bauer, 1996 Explorer Limited, all junk, mainly Transmission troubles) The only GOOD Ford product that we have had is the Mystique, Ford did an AWESOME job on these cars. I'm just mainly a GM person because we have bad better luck with that company, my 1990 6000 S/E AWD has 180,000 miles and have never had a major problem, although it has had more than its fair share of Alternators. The car still rides smooth, can go thru ANYTHING, and looks great. But because of the AWD, the handling sucks. I never meant to sound like a Ford basher, I'm not, I'll just never have another Ford again (unless they bring back Mondeos/Contours/Mystiques), and I'll stick with GM because that's what my family has had the best luck with. Sorry for the misunderstanding. And I'm back, if you dont like it; good, I dont care, if you do like it, thats great also, just dont act like 95MID and post quoted that I didn't say, that's the most childish thing I've seen, and it should stay in AOL Car Chat where it belongs. Sorry for the rant, just thought I should clear some things up....
