Ha! I'm from Portage... and my brother lives in J-town (Westmont). As for old, I worked on the cleanup crew in the aftermath of the '77 flood (I was 17). Portage got it pretty bad, too, but not as bad as Johnstown. I still remember (and probably always will) sitting on our front porch watching cars float down the street!
Used to go to some pretty good college parties at UPJ, too!
There used to be a wild frat/party house in an old farmhouse behind the Richland Mall, about a half mile toward Elton. They used to have some MAJOR blowouts there! Next time you come back to see the folks, drop me a line! We can go out for a run thru some twisties, which is one thing this area is definately good for... Don't ya feel sorry for folks who own an SVT, but live in Kansas?!?
