What do you guys think about painting brake calipers? I'm afraid it might look silly, if not ricey, to paint my stock calipers, especially since I'm sporting drums in the back. Any opinions?

Do not paint them until you at least get disc brakes in the back. I'm afraid to get wheels bigger than 15" because of my drums.

just painted my calipers today with ford dark blue engine paint..and i do have to say they look awesome!!don't waste your money on that $40 caliper painting kit...what a rip off..i got the same look from a $3 can of engine paint...i sprayed the paint into a cup and used 2 diff. paint brushes(1 tiny for model kits to do the hard to reach spots, and a 50 cent 1 inch brush for the rest)only took two coats,it is very glossy and looks killer...

Well I was thinking of painting the drums black anyhow, do you think blue would look good on a t-red car? and yes, the drums are embarrassing! maybe I'll just paint the calipers black. I'm planning on using $7 "brake caliper paint", but not any of those expensive kits. Thanks!

I asked abouth is a few months back and it was suggested to paint the drums black. Well it makes sense, I do not want to show off that I have drums on my car. I hit them with some paint when I did the brakes last week, looks really good, now I just have to get to the calipers.
if you don't like it, paint everything black or find some metal looking paint to make it look like it did before
good luck

Yeah, I definitely want to "hide" the drums. I'm trying to decide between red, yellow, and blue for the calipers. Red seems to be the "standard" color for calipers but I don't think it would look good against a different shade of red. Yellow would prolly stand out too much for my tastes, but I don't know how blue would look. Anyone out there have a red car with blue calipers?

I think blue against red would be a good contrast, I would say don't use a bright blue
would stay away from yellow, it screams rice in general I think
