Bleeding brakes can be a pain in the butt sometimes. I like to use gravity to do most the bleeding for me. I take the master cylinder cover off and then open the bleed valve and observe. If you have air in the line, you'll see bubbles coming out of the bleed valve. When I'm satisfied that there is no air in the system I close the valves. Then I either get a vacuum bleeder or someone to pump the brake while I work the bleed valve to finish the job. You may want to bleed the master cylinder as well as the brake calipers. Bleed the master first if you're going to do both.
