I bought the SVT calipers and rotors from an guy who upgrade to Bear calipers. Just used the brackets and the rotors though. My brakes feel great with the stock lines but if you are upgrading to stainless lines you ill need some fluid to replace leaked fluid and will ahve to bleed the system. Personally, I would get a qualified shop to do the lines just to save the hassle. Probably no more than an hours work I would guess. Dot 3 is the spec but check your manual.
Check for an ABS light on the instument panel when you turn the key to the start position. Otherwise slam on the brakes at about 15mph an see if your tires lock up / skid. If they do you don't have ABS or they are no working.
