Hi guys, last time My brakes were checked they said 2 mm were left. I'm just curious if this means that it's time to get new pads and what kind of prep I would need to do for a DIY install on my current rotors (car is entirely stock at this point).
Many auto parts stores also have a machine shop that will machine rotors. The going price is about $7.50 to $10.00 per rotor if you take the rotors to them. Even Pep Boys does it if you trust them.
If you have the rotors machined, be sure that they are not cut below the minimum thickness that is stated on the rotor. This was done to my car before I bought it land the rotors warped both front and back.
