I had them glowing really good one night.
A little after that I noticed a slight crack in both fronts. They lasted for a long time afterwards.
I have a dream, and that is a 69 Boss 302 with Jules Asner in it.
Current - 2002 Chevy Silverado

Pretty common on many of my kits, I've had pics sent from tracks like Laguna Seca and Butonwillow with them bright orange at speed- that's in the day time. Cool down time while moving is critical however to the life of the parts as stated.
Change the pads at the end of the day and drive home.

I love the "brake cam" that they run during NASCAR's coverage of the Martinsville races, as well as Bristol. They spend more time hard on the brakes on those short tracks and they get cherry on every corner. Also cool to see smoke pouring out of the wheel wells when they take pit stops in those races.
