Hi,

Changed the front rotors & pads this weekend w/ ~81K miles on them. The hardest part besides getting the frozen rotors off, was getting the spring clip back on.

I know the backs are different, so just wondering if it is also a PITA, anything I need to worry about. Thanks.

well, to open the calipers on the rear brakes involves screwing them open and closed. The fronts can be opened by a C-clamp and forcing the brake piston to move. But the rears are a screw type, so you'll have to turn them to open the calipers. You'll see when you look at the piston. It's not difficult.

Almost forgot about that! I need to get a pair of needlenose pliers. Do the backs also have a spring clip like the fronts? Thanks.

Rears have a stamped steel spring that clamps on top of the shoes instead of a spring steel wire.
