To those who've converted to Baers... I plan to go to the 12 or 13 inch Baer rotor/front brake upgrade kit. Can anyone provide me with the correct/new offset req'd for front rims to fit with the Baer kit? IIRC our cars came stock with 38mm offset. Thanks.

Stock whell was 50mm according to tire rack. Anyway I suggest you stay with a 40mm rim. I had to be hard headed and get a rim with a 45+mm offset now I am using a 7mm spacer and I had to shave the Baer down so that the spokes on my rim would fit. I suggest you save the headache and dont go out of that offset.

Hey Antonio, I should've just asked you at SZ! So if I understand correctly you have 40mm rims and a spacer too? If so, how thick is the spacer? My understanding is that the correct/stock offset is 38mm...hmmm. IIRC Baer provides templates on their website.

Offset 45 minus a 7mm spacer equals 38mm! I'm gonna' grab my old stockers and measure the offset, so we'll all know for sure. Thanks Antonio!

If I was you I would wait a bit on the Baer kit. Todd from TCE is about to come out with a four piston Willwood kit. ...Just a thought..

stock svt wheels are 49.5mm offset.

look up old threads in the wheels forum if you don't believe me.

good luck with those monster brakes!

Uhh. People?

Main thing to look at is where the spokes are positioned which is probably just as important as offset, if not more.

You had a deep dish wheel like Antonio's, and you'll have a problem fitting the wheel on, hence why we had to shave down his Baer calipers. That's a 19" wheel mind you.

At the same spot, I have about 1" of clearance with my puny 17" wheels.

Size won't matter in this case, but how big/wide the lip is on your aftermarket wheel will play a huge part in fittment of the wheels on a 13" Baer kit.

Hence why the Borbet Type Ts in 17" form won't accept a 13" Baer track kit. (check the lip)

I've done the Baer brake upgrade....to the 13"
Track system. Went with 18" OZ racing wheels.
Looks great...except for the goofy 9" stock
rotors on the rear.....I guess that's why guys
go for the Brembo rears....altough 80% of the
braking power comes from the fronts. Sorry no
pics yet.
