Baaah...boost the ride height, throw on some knobbies and go rallying!
If I were psycho and rich I'd do an X-type up for that.

Nope Kevin, that's what a Zetec looks like on an SVT suspension before it's setteled.
It does sit lower now but not much lower.
The weirdest part? It still handles great.

Demon - the SVT wheels are too small. 17's are nice, but ask anyone with 17's whether they wish they had gone with 18's instead. The majority will say yes.
The difference from goign from 16's to 18's on my car was huge. It looks SOOOOO much better.
Even die-hard SUV drivers here at work said it looked 10x better than the old 16's.
I know it's your opinion, but I am telling you that you're wrong on this one, mate!

it's all relative, when most people buy bigger rims the tires they put on have a much lower profile so in the end you have bigger rims but the same amount of space between the top of the tire and the fender. most people go from 205 60 15's to 205 40 17 The ratio is much smaller 60 vs 40 by doing this, you don't throw your speedometer out of wack as much because you will have a similar number of revolutions per minute.

While I like the trend of bigger wheels, from a practical daily driver standpoint, the 16 inchers and their tires will probably hold up better in the long run just because roads aren't very smooth. My neighbor didn't have his 18's for two weeks before he hit a pothole and blistered his right front sidewall. Having said that, would I throw some 19's on mine? Heck yeah! But it would be only if I was showing the car or cruising during the day when I could see every bit of the road I was about to driver over. Of course, I just threw practicality out the window! Karl

Not much a question...if you have the money to lower it, lower it. If you don't, you don't. I would probably do the suspension first, then get your 18s...
