Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums Modifications Brakes Is it easy or even possible to replace rear drums with Disc brakes?

I looked in my Ford Manuals last night and it appears that the brake line from the master cylinder runs to the same place on both rear disc and rear drum cars. Both use a flexible hose, but on drum cars, it looks like the hose is shorter and connects to the steel line that attaches to the drum.

So I think you could still do the swap, but you will need the right flexible line to attach to the rear disc caliper.

As well as the correct proportioning valves. But these are just parts, so all you need is $$$
