I would just buy a non-plated rotor and save money and just paint the hub area and have the same level of corrosion protection.

besides if you paint them you can make them any color you want.

I must says that i had to change my front rotors because of the rust, one rotor was begining to split in half (Ford OEM). The rust start by the outer edge of the rotor and went to the vent orifices. So my new rotors are plated (in Quebec at least its a good investement, cuz winter ).
And cross drilled or sloted are just for look, mine are cross drilled and i did not see any difference. I saw track time from a guy with an NSX who tried standard, cross drilled and slotted and there was no significant differences in each of is time.
And i have "F1 pads from Euro-Rotor" and they work very well.

Thanks for all the helps guys, I decided to go with the PowerSlot Rotors. They are not cadnium platted but are slotted. I know the slots won't do much performance wise but hopefully it will turn some heads... laugh ...

I am thinking of painting the hub black before I put them on, and maybe painting my calipers black as well.

I'll post some pics when I get them.

Thanks again for all the help,

Justin

Huh??? Rotors do not help your track time (drag strip), just your braking ability! You will not get a faster time by installing better rotors and brakes!

Come on, not "drag strip" but lap time, if you are overheating your brake then they are gonna fade more and more, if you do something that will really cool down your brake then, your braking will be more efficient, and you'll be able to shorten your braking distance, then a better lap time!

slotted rotors will eat your brake pads quicker. Just installed the KVR/Brembo front crossdrilled on my Tour. Only 2 days logged so it is hard to tell the results yet. So far so good.

Slotted are okay but I don't agree it's worth the extra cost. I found that stock rotors and premium brake pads such as mintex the best dollar value combo. I am sure that a lot of other would agree. Give me your feed back guys. If you are really convinced on buying after market performance rotors then I guess go with brembo.[/Q Autospecialty Powerstop Rotors I believe are made in 3 - 5 levels for the Contique. The cadmium plating on the 'Top' level is much 'better' than the '$20' coating offered on premium rotors. I now have the '$20' coating on a new set; I don't think it will last very long! My last rotors rotted out from the vents, because it is not a daily driver. I also think Powerstop and Power Slot brands get 'confused' - they are different brands. Autospecialty is part of TRW, who I believe was the OEM supplier to both the Contique and the Mondeao. Would Ford have used the Top level rotor as OEM????

I would trade 20 hp for 4 pistons and larger rotors on any road course, make that even dual pistons.

One thing I think that you forget is swept area. Idealy this should be as large as possible and cross drilling reduces this. It also is prone to cracking. Real holed rotors like those from manufactures are cast into the rotor to avoid this. Slotted rotors should reduce gas and should be IMHO the best idea!
Ok now thats been said I will be purchasing the Brembo rotors as soon as possible. Brembo has a good name and rep. I think you will be happy with your choice as well. Keep me informed on how they worked out.

Just a few words here. My PowerStop rotors needed a light cut to true up BEFORE installation. They then warped TWICE in 19k miles. I went to Raybestos with no problems since. I am not hard on brakes. The OEM Ford rotors went 77k miles with no problems till I decided to upgrade-lol- Choose wisely.
