I don't know if the same thing happened in the states, but as far as I know, up here in Canada, the Brembo's and the KVRs were made in the same factory and were essentially the same rotor.
In normal driving, you will most likely not notice a difference with the cross-drilled. In wet weather you will notice much improved braking.
Cadmium plating will help resist corrosion, highly recommend for anyone that sees snow in the winter (along with the salty roads) or highly rain affected regions.
