another benefit of stainless steel brake lines is improved resistance to heat. In a track or autoX type environment, heavy brake use creates tremendous heat, which can soften rubber brake lines and in a few cases (not on Contours) hve caused stock lines to fail, resulting in a failure of the brake system.
