Did BAT really say that it was the brackets that are causing the moaning, just sounds like typical racing brake noise to me, but if the new brackets cut the noise then that would be cool. Let me know.

Just to end the thread I started, I went ahead with 17" OZ Superleggera's with Dunlop SP Sport 9000's (I am now officially financially ruined, but they look really cool (even though I don't really like big wheels), grip really well, and clear the brakes no sweat.)
