Just to let everybody know......

BAT says in their catalog that the Wilwood's won't fit under the SVT wheels without spacers. You can add my '96 SE's OE flat-faced, 6-spokes to that list. The caliper's face extends a couple milimeters past the stud length. I am currently running 1/8th inch spacers and driving slowly until the Tire Rack can figure out what wheels will work with them.

Besides that, the brakes are awesome (I was worried that the Wilwood pads included would be too cool for the street but after the second or third full stop, they're up to temperature), the install was super-easy and the only complaint I have (besides the fitment issue) is the amount of dust they put out (which is ALOT).

I actually do not know how to post pictures on the forum (or on anything for that matter.)

This is probably not the best place to ask, but what is the easiest way to do it? I don't have a digital camera and I use a Macintosh.

Does just getting a Kodak Picture CD processed work?

Hey Greg,
Your brackets that hold the Caliper, What are they made of?

Bobby K. and installed his and his are made of aluminum and act as tuning forks. They are supposed to be sending new ones but they didn't say what they were made of. His was apparently the first production set.

I found that H&R springs makes a hub centric 5mm spacer that comes with longer studs. It's a really nice package and made from milled aluminum instead of cast. The cost is about $80 and it will save you from having to go to new wheels. Have you noticed any squealing from your brakes. After a few hard stops, I've developed a little squeal that happens when you stop on a turn, ie. into a parking space. It occasionally happens on the road, but not often. My car stops really well right now and I'm still adjusting to not using as much pedal effort.

Actually its Magnesium smile

I have a set on my car and also a set of Wilwood calipers. The Wilwoods don't have any provision for anti-squeal so they are going to be noisey. What you might try is using a TON of that anti sqeal on the pad and try putting some on the heat sheild on the caliper...

When Bobby talked with BAT. they said the Aluminum brackets were a known problem and he just got the replacements yesterday. They also said the pads run to hot they will galze so it is suggested you get Cross drilled rotors.

Did BAT really say that it was the brackets that are causing the moaning, just sounds like typical racing brake noise to me, but if the new brackets cut the noise then that would be cool. Let me know.

Just to end the thread I started, I went ahead with 17" OZ Superleggera's with Dunlop SP Sport 9000's (I am now officially financially ruined, but they look really cool (even though I don't really like big wheels), grip really well, and clear the brakes no sweat.)

Just a quick comment.....

BAT has sold me a couple of questionable reccomendations in the past (If anybody wants specifics, e-mail me privately. I don't think it would be appropriate to gossip on the forum.) Cross-drilled rotors as a glazed pads fix sounds more like a sales pitch than a good idea. If anything, slotted rotors would cut a clean surface alot better than drilled.

Just a thought.
