Taurus- the contour was too close in size and performance to the taurus- and FoMoCo needs the taurus as its lifeblood bread and butter large sedan- they need it to be the best selling car in america- well - the tours stole sales from the taurus so by by tour!
Not only that but they still weren't a good seller for thier mid size class.
