I have an article in the April Motor Trend on the FR200 Focus (what a car -- 304 HP, 0 to 60 in 5.44, 13.57 @ 106 in the quarter whew!).
In the article the show the brakes were replaced with SVT Cobra 13 in front and 11.6 in rear disks. It seems like this might be a reasonably priced route to go with the Contour. Has anyone explored this avenue? I did note Ford racing used 18 inch rims (most likely to clear the calipers). The results were 60 - 0 in 113 feet vs 130 ft stock. Not too shabby but part of the improvement could be tires...

The 13" Cobra front brakes are VERY similar to the Baer Kit and would require a 17" wheel.

How do you get the rotors on there? Aren't the bolt-patterns supposed to match up?

Hmmm if this is possible would it be cheaper than the Baer kit?? If so that would kick ass!!!
