Have Brembo front rotors been released yet? If so, what is the best source? Price?

SP Motorsports (www.spmotorsports.com)carries the Brembo rotors for SVTs.

Front - $111.54 ea.
Rear - $83.50 ea.

BTW - I ordered Autospecialty premium rotors (and paid the extra $15 per rotor for silver Cad. plating) and Mintex A/F brake pads/shoes and received plated Brembo rotors instead(!) for the same price. I'm a happy camper

Be aware that the front rotors are NOT Brembo's, unless SP Motorsports has changed what they have been saying for the past 6 months. If they have, please do tell.

I don't know what rotors they have up front, and I've NO CLUE on durability or reliability of them, either. I've been hankering for this type of upgrade, but I'm waiting on BAT to get their Wilwood kit together before I'm making a move...

You might want to check SP's website. Listed under "Brembo" are part numbers for front and rear rotors for non-SVTs and SVTs.
The rotors I received are in red Brembo boxes and are stamped "Brembo" on the edge. The installation sheet inside the boxes say "Brembo". Is this enough proof?

Was just installing the front rotors/pads. Those spring wire retainers for the calipers are a pain in the a** to reinstall!

I just copied this blurb off of SP Motorsports website. Take a look at the last sentence. I'm not doubting that all the HW came in a Brembo box, but given the verbage on the website, I'd definitely give SP Motorsports a call to clear up the mystery. It may simply be a case of the webmaster missing an update. Would be interesting to find out just what the real deal is, though...

"Cross-Drilled or Gas-Slotted Rotors - from the maker of some of the best rotors in the world, get better cooling, faster stopping in wet and dry, and great custom looks. Drilled or grooved, same price. For drilled and grooved, add $35.00 per rotor. For cadmium plating see below. At present, front SVT/Cougar rotors are not made by Brembo."

Thanks - I missed that bit of verbage. My apologies for the mis-information.
Guess I got all excited about getting the Brembos in place of the cheaper Autospecialties rotors that I ordered (for an SE Sport). Yes, the rotors are Brembo; like I said, they're stamped on their edges as such. Each rotor was also individually boxed in sealed Brembo boxes.

Wjang,

I am assuming that the Brembo's you received were not cross-drilled or slotted. Is this true?

Auto Specialty rotors are made by Brembo and are simply sold under Auto Specialty's name (at least the ones for our cars).
The ones that Wes is talking about are not drilled or slotted, just solid, but vented stock size disks. I got the same kind but for my rear's. Combined with KVR pads they work great!

Hope this helps.

T.

That is correct, they are solid with "Brembo" stamped on their edges. For my usage, I didn't feel like paying the extra money for drilling/slots. They are so far working great with the Mintex A/F pads. I still get some brake dust on the wheels, but it doesn't seem to be as much as with the stock pads.
