Does anyone know what the factory rating is for when to replace the rotors on the SVT? I figured there's probably some kind of measurement they have to see how deeply the rotors are grooved to see if it warrants replacement. My front rotors (no surprise here) hare getting some grooves in them (as in a very noticeable difference in height of the lip between the pad track and the outermost edge), especially after two track events. The rears seem fine though. Both are showing lots of rust on the vents. The car has 27K miles on it, not driven by grandma (as in I'm not easy on it). ------------------ Adam Wilson Chicago CEG member http://www.automotiveinfopage.com [This message has been edited by FLIP (edited July 19, 2000).]

Adam, guess I would just bit the bullet and replace them. My exp. with the stock SVT rotors was that any cut led to warping all too quickly. I did them in once burying them in the Buttonwillow mud but the other time was the rotors fault. Lasted only 5K before the signs of warping and I didn't use them that hard. Think E-0's and E-1's are hell on front rotors with the larger dia. AND larger pad area.

Adam I have a set of never used autospecialty rotors for sale $62 each. If you read on the SVT rotor, it will say what the min. thinkness is, but you have to take off the wheel to read it. Its on the inner part of the rotor.... BTW, I took the PowerStops back to buttonwillow this year and they suck! ------------------ David Z. Silver E1 #4808 w/stuff http://daplace.spedia.net

Minimum recommended thickness of the rotor is cast into the hub of the disc. Just take off a front and back wheel to read.
That's what I have on my SVT.
