Dude, perhaps (read definitely) I am a little too quick to flame people. But come on, I simply tried to make my point that fiddling with the stock setup a bit might yield better returns that going to a full out new package. I do come across as a little "enthusiastic" at times... read "flame war". Sorry guys, but Sinz's post brought out the worst in me.
As for whomever you talked to down in L.A. (read South County Autosports), you would be better to get my side of the story to compare to theirs to make your judgement.
1) I ordered the Sparco aluminum brace from them way back and the guy at SCA who runs the show on the SVT mods had some idiot send it out who shipped it to Illinois (this was when I was living in San Jose, CA) so by the time they got it returned and sent to me in N. Cali, it was like 2 1/2 weeks total for shipping time. All I did was pay the money and give my correct address, nothing bad there. Their screwup.
2) I ordered their exhaust from them. When it came, the main y-pipe was scratched in many places because they shipped it with only bubble wrap around the ends, not around the whole pipe and it was shipped with UPS. (notorious for f'ing things up, used to work in a stereo shop, ask me how I know). Then, I took it to be installed and the pipe rubbed against the fuel tank and the rear tips rubbed against the plastic. Sorry, but believe me I was excited about it and I tried like hell with the guy working on my car to get it to fit and it wouldn't. Sorry, but that's what happened. When I called SCA, the dude (can't remember his name now) didn't sound enthusiastic about giving my money back (no surprise, any merchant would be like that) and claimed that if I had had them install it, they would have "made it fit". His exact words.
So that's my end of the story. I'm really not a bad guy, just pretty opinionated at times, and I'll admit that. Ask anyone from the Northern Cali group who knows me (and Dave Z). I just come across as an asshole through email.

But personal comments aside (Sinz, you claimed that I couldn't afford new wheels to fit the brakes, you deserved what I said about Blockbuster Video considering I pulled in 6 figs last year and I'm 24), I still say that the Baers may not be the best solution to the SVT's braking. Direct all flames to "svt_contour@yahoo.com" and I'll respond personally.
