I was on my way home from eating (and drinking a little) late last night and pulled up next to a riced out (no offense guys... but if you saw it, you'd understand) Grand Prix GTX which is the god of Grand Prix's (at least that's what I thought). Anyway, knowing I have no chance in hell, I still wanted to race him because that's just the way I am. My little 98' 2.5L MTX gave him a run for his money, let me tell you.

I raced him to the enterance ramp from a light and he barely pulled on me... then once on the freeway, he only had my by 2 cars from 35 to 90 (when I decided to back off), and trust me, he was trying for those of you who think he wasn't on the gas. He wanted to race every bit as much as me.

Aren't these things supercharged!!!??? They are supposed to be faster than the GTP if I am not mistaken. I would be PISSED if I were him considering I have a BONE STOCK 98' SE with SVT exhaust, shifter, a half busted IMRC and a blown out O2. My car didn't even feel up to it's potential considering my IMRC was fluttering and it smelled like a big ol' fart cause' I am running so rich thanx to the damn O2.

What's up with that!!!??? Fix my little probs and throw a 75 shot on and I would have walked all over him.

I've never really raced one, but I don't really think they're all that. They weigh a good bit. Handle pretty good for their size though. I think the GTP is pretty much the same thing (maybe not ram air, though).

Oh, there's no doubt that they are quick for their size and all, but I think that is the difference. GTP is supercharged and the GTX has ram air on the supercharger and minor asthetic differences if I remember correctly.

Other than that, they should be at least faster than my car I would hope considering that's their best/fastest/sportiest sedan or whatever. I even had a passanger and he didn't.

IIRC, the GTX option package was available on both GP GT and GTP (ie both sc and non-sc models)

but don't quote me, I don't know pontiac models as well as the Blue Oval stable.

Other than that, street racing is bad, mmm-kay?
