Thinking about buying MSDS headers and Y pipe for my SVT. The MSDS web page says they are good for 30 fwhp with a cat back exhaust and a chip. I'd like to know what they are good for without the chip and if they are worth the price tag and how difficult to install. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The Y-Pipe is a very easy change, but the headers are another story. i would go Sho Shop off road y-pipe, Borla, KKM or big K&N, and an Apexi. And in the future a larger MAF.

Sho y-pipe and gutted cats....best way to go....your choice on the exhaust after the main cat.....once you go sho and catless....it is plenty free flowing and loud with the stock SVT exhaust.................

I would go 6" or bigger k/n s/b filter (not KKM-it's too restrictive), Pro-flow MAF, Sho-off Road y, Brullen 2.5" manfrel laugh , no resonator

Well, the install took me (us) 6 hours. It was a bear, but at the same time, it was fun. I can't imagine paying for that install, though...$$$ up the wazoo. I can't say for sure how much hp I gained, as I haven't dynod, but I will say that it's worth quite a bit. Plus, it's got a bad-@ss grumble to it, too. wink
Looks like your buddies are trying to talk you out of it, though. The headers wont net you as much hp w/o the intake and cat back. So, those might be a better place to start. HTH. PM me if you have any other questions.

#1, your Ford is worth dick right now anyways, so what do you stand to lose?

#2, add up all your mods now and they are worth about the same as the turbo and you are getting nowhere near the gains the turbo boasts...
