Well, I got to look at Eric's car tonight. You can definitely see where he got into an accident. There is nearly six inches of space between the engine and the front frame (where the fan and headlights are). I opened up his intake tube...and low and behold there was a puddle of oil. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from...looked like it was coming out of one crank case vent hoses.
Well, when we put it back together and Eric started her up....then shut her down...there was a loud sucking sound (insert your comment here). It was dark, and after a few starts and stops...we found the PCV valve was not in, it was hanging out! So, I figure that was the cause of the oil in the intake tube. This means his intakes are absolutely coated and caked with oil.
So, after a little more inspection, I wanted to check his oil......only to find out....I CAN'T!!! His dip stick is GONE!! The top of the dip stick tube was sheered off in the accident, and they never replaced it!! I told Eric to take it back and have them fix the tube. I don't think I'd trust those idiots with cleaning the intakes out...who know what they'll break this time.
What is the moral of this story? If your Contique breaks....come to the forums for help. Oh...and don't run into walls either!!!
I told Eric that maybe next weekend we can clean his intakes out. Stay tuned! :p
