Gutting the cats should take no more than 1/2 for each cat. The problem I ran into, however, was that I have a 95 and the front downpipe bolts were stuck and I had to strip the bolts to get them off. It took me two hours to get off two bolts. I doubt you will run into this problem. So figure 1 hour to hollow out the cats, 1 hour for jacking up the car and removing the y-pipe, and 1/2 to drive to Meineke to have them weld the hole you drilled in the front downpipe. Side note. Do not do this on a Sunday as most muffler shops are closed(you may have to drive around with a noisy car, I speak from experience

As for the SVT exhaust, no more than 1 hr. If you really know how to weld (or if you know how to screw on the bracket), even less time.
You will notice a big difference when you do this.
