Well... it was an eventful night, you might say.
The drag strip was fun, although due to a big Chevy Power show that's in the area, we normal cars got put on the backburner to the huge dragsters. Of course, after my first run, one had to spill oil all over the track, which caused a 1 & 1/2 hour delay, so most of the other guys only got 1 run in for the night. I say we were robbed & we have to go again.
My times licked hairy nuts, but that's ok, I had alot of fun & am learning this whole launching thing little by little. Unfortunately, I also learned i have the hanging throttle problem, so off to the toolbox I go. First run was crappy, good launch with a 2.4 60' time but I took a dump on 3rd gear & had to jam it back in... ran a 17.8 (AACK!) Second run was better, but worse launch, 2.6 60', but I hit all the gears... ran a 16.7 @ 80mph.
The fun started after the races. Driving home, I was in a pack of 6. A WRX, 911 Turbo, IS300, and some idiot in an M3 w/ Superleggeras that was nowhere near stock. We get to a clearing in the traffic & the pack goes, they must've been doing 140 b/c I was at 120 and I had 1/4 mile b/w me and the IS... and the BMW was lightyears in front of the IS. Mind you, this genius almost ran into a semi truck a minute earlier... I tell my friend "This guy's going to kill himself"... sure enough, I see lights spinning in all directions. The guy was swerving at 140, hit the wall of I-95, spun & left the ground, came right while spinning & struck the pillar of the overpass just after Yamato Road, bounced back onto the shoulder of I-95 on the right side. I pulled over with his friends & ran over. His buddy was pinned in the passenger seat... lemme tell ya, there was absolutely NO M3 there when I got there... my buddy took a spring home with him as a reminder... all 4 rims cracked in 1/2... most of the engine was not in the engine bay... words can't describe. I hope the guys who took pics post them soon as a reminder of what acting like an ******* can do.

exactly why dickheads shouldnt have fast cars. i have had the same thing happen to me i was entering the highway after it had just finished raining and a dickhead in a trans am with the ws6 packages pulled right next to me then thinking he was some sort of badass guns it. 5 seconds laters he spins out and crashes head on into the wall and demolishes his car i mean comon dont these people understand that real wheel drive isnt something that is used well in the rain

I agree...we were robbed...see my other post.
HOLY CRAP!!! I can't believe you actually saw this guy almost kill himself! More money than brains. I would like to see those pics. Amazing that nobody was killed.
We'll have to go back when there isn't a big show going on.

Although I'd love to go on a Wednesday, I get out of class at 8pm, plus it's a rough day for our younger members to get out.
Fridays are fun, but next time I leave my house at 3:30pm. I want to be at the front of the line.
Here's my crappy runs. 1) Choked on 3rd gear R/T - 1.388 60' - 2.405 330 - 7.008 1/8 - 11.042 1000 - 14.352 1/4 - 17.265 @ 72.12
2) Decent try, lots of wheel hop R/T - 1.151 60' - 2.624 330 - 7.364 1/8 - 11.083 1000 - 14.231 1/4 - 16.746 @ 79.8

Did he hit the wall doing 140? Were there any major injuries that the driver or passenger got that will remind them of that stupidity when they want to go that fast again? Im guessing the BMW was totalled to hell...
Cant wait for pics. These guys just slipped out of the grim reaper's grasp...

Thanks to BMW's awesome engineering and the luck of the crash the driver and passenger were unharmed. The driver managed to get out of the car and use his cell phone to call the police .. while the passenger stayed in his car and kept on ranting about how awesome that ride was.. The drivers side front strut was totally off. OIL nd coolant spewed from that thing like there was no tommorow. If someone was tobe sitting behind the driver lets just say that they wouldnt have legs right now. A spring flew and was cut in 2. there were at least 2 broken rims.., in peices of 3 or more. Unsavageable car. I took some pics but they are from too far away because the paramedics arrived at the scene. I will not post them.
