Fellas, seriously gonna get rid of the car. Have been trying, but not very lucky on the open market. Looks like she might have to be the victim of a trade in. frown If she does go that way, I'll be parting her out. Rims and tires, chip, and the gauges. The a pillar is already spoken for.

I am going to need a stock premium sound CD player, so if anyone has one, let me know.

I thought I'd give the Florida peeps first dibs if I do go this way. Just be on the look out for more to come...

one side was standard chipped mode, removed revlimiter, advanced timing, pretty noticeable difference.

other side was for the n20. retards timing 3° and boosts fp a tad. also removes rev limiter.

Well after months of keeping our lips sealed we can finally officially announce that Volkswagen of America is indeed going to offer a version of the German 25th Anniversary GTI here in America to be called the GTI 337 Edition. 337 was the original code name for the first generation A1 GTI and this car is a fitting tribute to the spirit of the orginal GTI.

Starting with a 180hp 1.8T GTI GLS, the following extra equipment and changes have been made:

18" BBS RC Wheels with 225/40-ZR18 High-Performance Summer Tires
greatly improved sport suspension - 1" lower overall ride height
Votex body kit with front valance, side skirts, rear hatch wing and rear valance with 3" chromed exhaust tip
315mm (12.4") diameter vented front and 256mm (10") rear vented brakes with red powder coated calipers
All-new six-speed MQ350 transmission
Recaro front seats in special "LeMans" red and black cloth with custom GTI embroidery
Brushed aluminum interior trim accents
Red stitching on steering wheel, shift boot, handbrake knob and seats
Special golf ball shift knob
Aluminum pedals with rubber inserts
Stainless steel exhaust with mild sound tuning
Red trimmed floor mats
Special exterior retro GTI badging
and more
The GTI 337 will be officially introduced at the New York Auto Show at the end of March and will be available in dealers mid to late May. Pricing has not yet been announced but we expect it to be a bit less than the $23,500 target that Volkswagen was shooting for. Volkswagen is going to produce only 1,500 GTI 337 models and only in Silver (as shown).

Because of our reader involvement in petitioning Volkswagen of America to bring this car over, Volkswagen will offer our readers exclusively the ability to go online and submit a sales request for a GTI 337 a full week before the general public. Around the middle of March we will announce the special Internet address that readers can go to and start the sales process. We'll have full details on this very special offer within a few weeks, so check our home page regularly for updates.

For more specifics on the GTI 337 Edition and the story behind bring this car here check out our Frequently Asked Questions section in our discussion forums. For our ride and drive review of the 25th Anniversary GTI and to get a more complete idea of what our GTI 337 is all about see the full story in our features section. Photos of the GTI 337 are still a couple weeks away, but you can click on the link to the photo gallery above left to view the German specification 25th Anniversary GTI which is very similar. We have also set up a dedicated discussion forum for the GTI 337 that can be found here.

Stay tuned to VWvortex for the latest information on this great new addition to the GTI lineup.

I'm starting to understand....

It doesn't mention upping the ponies from 180 though.

Yeah, but that sucker ain't due out until the end of May, and I ain't waiting! It is a great lookin car, but it only comes in Silver. Not to mention, the only performance upgrades on that car I like are the Recaros and the suspension, both of which can be easily acquired aftermarket. I am not a fan of the BBS rims either. They are very light, but I do not like the looks.

There are some great upgrades you can throw on abd almost instantly be as fast, or faster than a very modded SVT. Take for example the APR chip. That little fugger will run you around 500 bones and put you over 240ft lbs of torque, and about 200 hp. ONE MOD and you have already almost surpassed the SVT straigh line wise.

I have been researching it pretty heavily latley, and will more than likley try to acquire one before the middle of the month.

"240ft lbs of torque and about 200 hp"

Are those "ponies on the ground" numbers?

What's the estimated tranny loss for a Dub?

Silver is one of the best colors for hiding road nicks and scratches, just think about Roland's ride.

What other body style you looking at/
