this is mostly for Giovanni... Paesano - you should come up to Mt.Clemens MI - there's a mini-cruise night there wednesdays. surprisingly - i didn't see one ricey neon there - but i DID see a group of 10 Contour "enthusiasts" with wings on their svt's...led lights on the windshield washers, etc...it was sickening really (rice percentage 100%). the only thing they were missing were the hydraulics - but i'm sure that's coming. i was embarrassed to be an svt owner that day - let me tell you. luckily - i drove my beater neon... and my feelings were spared when on my way home - i saw another SVT nearer home (not one from the show) and he recognized the 'Arrows F1' sticker on the neon - so i guess not all was lost. my point? svt's are just as ricey as any other car - if they get into the wrong hands- there's no test you have to take before buying one....unfortunately.

wow, you guys are everywhere!! i don't doubt that a ricey svt would be faster than mine - but it's not keeping me awake at night. it's an image of the individual one shows the world with their vehicle... i prefer to project an image of class. :-) i'm not going to battle for attention with the zit faced, adolescent, high-spoiler civic-crowd. i consider(ed) the svt above that stuff. but hey...to each his (or her) own!

I just got all my wisdom teeth pulled out so I'm still doped up, (I guess I told the dentists that "It was a good party") so could you point me to the thread about the rice percentage, I remember putting it but I do not remember where it was. I think I was joking around a bit but once I'm feeling better I'll argue with you so hold up.

From my vantage point....OK this is my take....when one buys a car without having a real clue as to what's under the hood, or how to really improve performance....the easy thing is to pretend it's fast by either slapping on 'fast-looking' stuff (oh, yeah, inviting races and tickets too?) or even worse, paying some fool to do non-perf mods. Either way, it seems as cool as putting pink flamingos in front of a trailer to give it some class. Just a billboard for idiocy that might be confused for 'being an individual', although I noticed that these mods are hardly ever home-made or even individually inspired. Which brings us to the beginning again....
98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....
