The FAA has its hand in every country's air space. Anywhere a US passenger can fly, they are regulating it, you just don't hear about it.

And FWIW, the Concord can only exceed the sound barrier over international waters and the majority of passenger planes are not designed to fly faster than sound, the structural design wouldn't allow it and it would shake appart.

Back to the original topic, I've done 110 in my zetec, but it died because of the fuel cut off. frown This was when I was testing the speedo for accuracy w/ my gps and that's what the gps was reading.

Anyone else remember when the Concorde flew into Battle Creek, MI a few years back to drop off those 16 flight students to Western Michigan University?

Of course, the Concorde could not break the speed of sound over land although it WAS the first time it had been inland USA

No proof of it, but I was able to hit 136 in mine. That was for sure that dumbest stunt I've pulled to date. Three other friends, me and not the best of roads either. I have to give some praise for the SVT though, it took a posted 35 mph turn at ~70 with no problems, although I almost lost it. Also, that night I got the rotor's to glow red, NASCAR style. I'll never go that fast again unless it's in a race car.

I have a dream, and that is a 69 Boss 302 with Jules Asner in it.

That was the basis of my argument. I was just responding to what was written. Maybe you need to be more specific next time wink wink wink [/b]
The FAA is a US regulatory body, not an international one... Therefore their jurisdiction is US air space & aircraft...

so nyah, nyah... :p laugh

It didn't need to be said because it should have been a given to you... eek wink

good point, concordes do break the speed of sound, thats also why they are forbidden to land in alot of countries (i.e Germany)
