Basically low miles (less than 15,000 per year it's driven), good condition, and stock. As for color, I would prefer Silver- easier to keep clean and cooler in this Florida heat.
The price isn't the biggest problem for me, rather finding insurance that's reasonable, but I am looking to pay under 15,000. I've been looking for ads wherever I can find them, but if you catch anything I miss, thanks for keeping me on the up and up.
JLowitz,
This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but the reality is sinking in that I may be selling or trading in my '00 Black & Tan SVT. Now, I know you weren't looking for black, but I thought I'd mention it.
Built 11/24/99, we bought it 8/3/00 with 79 miles on the odo, and it now has just under 24k miles (lots of I75 and I10 to south Alabama) showing. Everything mechanically is stock. That goes for even the air filter. Never been run at Bithlo, never been autocrossed, never been smoked in. The only aesthetic/cosmetic things done have been the trade to E0 SVT wheels (with Neil Migala here in Melbourne), blacked-out front & rear chrome strips, professional tint job (yes, legal), and removed ding strips.
Inside, I think I've done the lighted moonroof switch, and a little bit of sound deadening to the doors and trunk floor. No audio upgrades.
As far as the mechanical history goes, the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and slave cylinder were replaced about 1500 miles ago by Paradise Ford in Cocoa due to a warped flywheel from the factory. The sad part is, now that I realize we may have to sell, it drives better now than I ever could have imagined. Those guys did a great job. Other mentionables are a new A/C condenser @ around 8000 miles due to road kill damage (from a bobcat that wasn't quite quick enough), a new dash cover at around the same mileage, and a new hoodliner due to a sagging problem with the original one (which had evidently been pressure washed during its youth on the lot at Don Reid Ford in Maitland).
The original BFG KDW's are about 5000 miles from the wear bars, and they've been rotated faithfully. Been running Mobil 1 synthetic since about 2000 miles, and changing at around 7k intervals since.
Why am I selling? Well, the primary reason is that my wife and I want kids within the next year or two, and neither of our vehicles (wife has an '89 Camry LE V6 w/160k miles) are good for these ridiculously bulky infant seats that everybody makes. In addition, she doesn't like and can't drive a manual transmission. Never has, never will. Since we'll hardly get a dime out of her Camry--though it's in
excellent running order--the sobering reality remains that the SVT must be sacrificed in order to get her something larger. I've tried to convince her to look at station wagons (Passat, mainly), but she hates them...so the only other economical option that remains for us and our travel needs is a small SUV. Specifically, the Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute. Funny...I just can't seem to get away from that Duratec V6
I intended to start the pricing at 16,500...definitely more than you were hoping for. It's workable, though. Of course, you may not like the black anyways, but I thought I'd at least mention what I've got...
