For you guys that went to OSW last week and saw my friends Lightning puke white smoke, that was not a head gasket. He pulled the heads off and a piston was gone. Not there. GONE!! eek It was in the oil pan with half of the connecting rod! HOLY CRAP! It punched a hole in the block, beat the hell out of the Twisted Wedge head on that side, bent the intake valve, wiped out the roller lifter and cam lobe. To sum it up, that engine is TOTALLED! That sucks. He just got the engine back together about 8 weeks ago.
I think he might do a 410ci Windsor like in Eds truck. (the other white Lightning) He would be deep in the 11s if he does. I feel bad for him, but, thats racing.
Moral of the story: KEEP IT OFF THE REV LIMITER WITH A BLOWER!! Later guys, Rod K.

Had he changed the pulley on the blower to increase PSI

No, he was running the same 10# pulley that he ran before the heads and cam swap. I think it might have been a weak rod. It just snapped in half. Go figure.

i saw him when he went down the track, i forgot what was beating him but u heard a pop and this cloud of white smoke came out of the rear and he slowed like hell.... sad.. frown

Neil, I am truly glad it wasnt mine! laugh I did recieve my 24# injectors today so now Im just waiting on the cam. In 2 weeks from this weekend Ed (white 95 Lightning) and myself are doing the swap.
Also, I might be gettin a NX nitrous kit. Adjustable from 70-300hp. 300 ought to get me into the low 11s.. BOOM!! Ill talk to you guys later in the week about Friday night, if it ever quits raining. Rod K.
