Yes, those stupid f*&*^$g airbags have really screwed things up. What should be a minor fender-bender now has a $5800 repair estimate -- $3200 of which is to replace the airbags and related components. Since the market value of the car is around $6000-6500, the body shop tells me to expect a call from the insurance company regarding the "totalling" of the car.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with insurance companies? I'd really, really, really like to get the car fixed... airbags or not. Can I "buy it back" from them, and get everything fixed except for the airbags?

Ideas anyone?
