The car weights over 2 tons and has relatively poor low-end torque. The 2500rpm stall helps a little, but it still isn't going to be a rocket out of the hole, hence the "slow" 0-60 times. The mid-range and top end is without a doubt better, and should be more than enough to impress you guys. Besides, if you're judging the car on 0-60 alone, then I must say that you simply "don't get" the point of the Marauder.
-edit-
Don't forget that Vortech, Paxton, and KenneBell have been making blowers for the 32V 4.6 for over 6 years now. It won't be overly long before blown Marauders are stalking the streets....

For a 4000+ Lb car that doesn't seem too bad to me, but I'm waiting for the supercharged engine they have in the convertable concept I saw one at the dealer the other day, looks so much better in person . If only I had the money.... ( I would still keep the mystique of course). ::edit:: I'm also waiting for the six speed automatic they are talking to roush about, that would make up for the no manual a little

I wish my old 4000lb boat (80 Olds 98) ran 0-60 times under 7 seconds.

At AIS in April, we ran against quite a few Impala SS'es. Mildly modded (the Turbo SS was in the next class up from us) they were running mid-14s.

i agree,it would take tons, and i do mean tons of boost for an impala ss to run 13's..don't think there are too mant ss's that run in the 13's..14's sounds more likely, and even then it would take tons of extra hp...

I'm sure that if a stock contour SVT was to run that beast on the highway, it would get its ass handed to it. Its a heavy car so the 0-60 will be high but I'm sure once its moving, it will appear much more nimble.

Sure, it may be fairly fast once it's moving, but didn't the real "muscle-cars" of the 70's and 80's really rip it up, even from a stop? And I'd expect a real muscle-car to at least have an optional manual gearbox....
