I agree with PA 3L, it isn't a matter of ability as much as just taking the time and care that only the owner has for the car.
I'm am definitely not an electrician either, but it isn't nearly as hard as you would think. Luckily, all the wires you have to deal with, I was able to get enough slack on to get a nice free space to sodder on. Besides, as computers play an increasing part in tuning, developing these types of skills will benefit you in your tuning future (at least that's how I look at it.) It's all a matter of practice and confidence.
By the way, I am dropping my car off at Altered Atmosphere tomorrow to get my S-AFC tuned, I'll definitely report back about how it goes. It's gotta be better than now. I just got my car inspected in Pennsylvania (15mph dyno) and pulled over 200ppm on HC's! A Contour putting out raw gasoline at 2500rpm, no way! (Just kidding, actually some guy said he finally stopped his from running rich down low opening up the upper and lower intakes a bunch. Maybe some day.)
