I've never had a cop look at me twice when driving my '88 Mustang GT (I did get pulled over for having a 4-month-out-of-date safety inspection though, but that would have happened with any car).
I think it's probably because Fox-body Mustangs just aren't that popular with the 16-24 crowd anymore...look at what cars ARE popular with that crowd (which I will no longer be a part of in about 9 days), those are the ones the cops are watching closely.
