Goood. I know the daughter of the president or something of local dealership, so I should be able to get a good deal if I ever have to get it serviced by them. She drives a contique too.

i can honestly say i have never had a decent ford dealership experience service....without a call back east first that is....they're pretty nice then

when i used to deal with vw they were very good and in fact would let go back to the bay and speak personally with mechanics...that was really cool

once when my timing belt broke my german shop wanted to charge me 1300 for new valves timing (had already changed belt but couldnt get the timing right) the whole shot...had the car towed to vw and total was $192 including a cv boot replacement...all it needed was timing adjust

too bad i dont have faith that ford would do the same for me

All my Aunt and uncle have ever owned are MB's and they let me take their aging (kate 80's model I believe) to the dealership to get the oil changed, they treated me like I personally was a prized owner and customer of several MBs(I was only 18 at the time) they were giving me doughnuts, free soda, super plush waiting room with a big screen(they handed me the remote from the recaption desk)...the works.

Before I got the Mystique, I had a BMW 325e. Great car, but I hated the dealer. Took it in to the local BMW/MB/Porsche/Audi dealership for a leaking O-ring in the clutch slave cylinder. Should be a simple job. Took a week and some $700 later, I had the car back. They decided it needed a new timing belt (replaced it without asking me), screwed up the battery cable, replaced the whole slave cylinder instead of just the O-ring, etc. I would have bought another BMW, but I couldn't afford the $500-750 every service cost me. By contrast, my local Ford dealer treats me much better, a much nicer waiting room, and at least in the first 100,000 miles of the Mystique's life, servicing costs have been much less than my BMW's. Don't get me wrong, I'll own another BMW someday, but not from the local dealer.

We had a lexus for awhile and I can't say I was too impressed by their service. We did get a free loaner car, although it was actually a rental from enterprise rent-a-car. Routine maintaince took about 4 hours too, and wasn't too cheap.

The volvo has fared a little better. The dealer is closer and is better about quick in and quick out. We've also been bringing the car there for a good chunk of it's life so they know us pretty well, if only it wasn't so stinkin expensive frown

i forgot about when i was a teen working as a grunt for budget rent a crap....used to drive customers to and from all different brands of dealers...bmw was definitely the best...would offer me coffee and donuts while waiting for customers

if they treated me so well i can only imagine how well that dealer treated their real customers

This may be a stupid question, but do you mean taking the Ford to a BMW/ACURA etc dealership???

Yep, considering the dissatisfaction most folks here have with Ford service, I was wondering whether anyone had taken their car to a BMW/Audi/Acura etc dealership for service.

Judging by the posts, it seems all marques have spotty service.

err yeah, but that's why they're a bmw/audi dealership, they service bmw's and audi's. unless you meant like an oil change, maybe they could do that, but i don't see how they could work on your car otherwise.
