I bought a new pair of tires from Just Tires in Laurel (on Second St.) about two weeks ago. Last week I noticed kind of a "wa..wa..wa" sound when turning hard to the right - but only at low speeds. I figured my wheel bearings were starting to go a little and it was not a major problem.
The sound got worse and worse and by yesterday (all of a sudden) the whole d@mned car would vibrate at highway speeds. So I decide to take my wheel off and check to see if I could see any damage. I pop the center cap off my right passenger wheel and to my surprise I see TWO LUG NUTS fall on the ground and one of those still had half an effin lug in it!!
It seems (to me at least) that some slacker at Just Tires in Laurel didn't bother to tighten up all the lug nuts. At least my wheel didn't fall off or something. I'm calling Just Tires in a few minutes. The moral of the story is, to thouroghly check your car after any service is done. Looking back, I should have known to check - too late now.
Anybody know how much it will cost to have a lug replaced and what other damage could have been caused by driving on a loose wheel?
