anyone know how much it is to replace the rear door window on the driver side?? i wanna know if its worth it to go through insurance (deductible) or just pay it out of pocket..

Its probably around $400 to have it replaced. So it depends on your deductible. I had both front windows in my truck (about the same size) smashed out once for a cellphone and they were around $400 each.

damn thats horrible. my rims just got jacked the week before last so I know how you feel, it's violating as hell. i've taken the steps to make sure this never happens again though and I suggest you do the same.

Yeah, so you know right away when your stuff is stolen, as opposed to when you'd get back to your car on your own.

When my car was broken into a few months back it cost me $160 to replace the drivers front window. They came to my house to install it as well.
They also got my center panel and dimmer switch. SQplus picked one up for me at the junkyard in the right color w/the switch for $20 which snapped right back into place.

This insurance business is funny,,,when i lived in Michigan, I had my Cd player stolen twice, and Allstate just sent me to a shop to fix the glass, and they also did stereo work so they dealt with the insurance company. It was pretty painless really,,,Allstate even said that they would order the next level up because what I had at the time was discontinued.
Allstate has been pretty good to me,,,BUT i know other smaller companies suck big time..

I feel your pain, well, some of it. Somebody backed into my car yesterday causing about $600 in damage and did not bother to come in to my 1 man office to let me know. What really bites is that I know it was a truck pulling a telephone pole...the pole left black goo all over the bumper and fender...when I called the electric company to complain they claim they have no reason to be in that area. I explained that they eat at the restaraunt next door every Tuesday and park in the same lot as I do. They tell me now that they have not eaten there for months. Ughhh
I think I will jsut wait on fixing and get SVT Bumpers. (i need to do a search on cost on those)

These people have no regard for those of us that work hard for our stuff

Not trying to be a smartass but this really annoys me. What makes you think its a punkass kid? I think there are greater chances of the crook to be 18+.

i know i didn't say, it but in my opinion any fool that chooses to steal somebody's $HIT is in no way a responsible adult...so i could see using the term punk a$$ kid loosely in a statement...not speaking for the author, just myself- i am sure he didn't mean to upset any "kids" here...moment of extreme rage ya know. "Sorry people I just had to vent... "

I know I sure was pi$$ed when Icame out and noticed my car had been hit yesterday..I said many many naughty things. (something along the line of hillbilly jacka$$ back woods no respect mfs...you would just have to know the area I am in...and leaving soon, yeah it's that bad)
I think this goes along with people using the term rice...everyone has their own little statements they say- usually misread by others and taken way to seriously, then a thread catches fire....once again I feel bad for those that have been having their stuff stolen. I myself have been thinking of getting a video set up in the car someday for me the wife and the little one...waiting till I get an alarm!
