The spring compressors I've seen have been done using a screwdrive that pulls the ends of the spring together. I figure you'd need two compressors to get both sides of the spring compressed.

Maybe that is old school technology, but I know they still exist.

Never done it myself.......so of no help.

Just know that it could be dangerous if you are not paying attention.
