to jack up the azz end of my car that is!

well, last night i was getting ready to do my rear brakes. and i havent been feeling too great lately, so i was on all sorts of cold meds and such.
well i looked under the back of the car and saw a nice little trailing arm type thing, and the way the light was hitting it it looked nice and beefy.

so i stuck the jack under it and away i went.
i noticed the car wasn't going up too quickly even thought i knew i was on the arm. upon closer inspection, i noticed i fugged up.
the little ole bar dun gone and bent itself (alot)
hehe hmph
so when i let the car back down it had a new foot print:

DSF | | PSF

DSR \ | PSR

hehe
me car no go straight now!!

luckily its only a $33 part.

and Mike, you thought you fugged up?

HA, i got ya beat!!

Ouch - lots of complaints about shops lifting the car from that same spot, so don't feel so bad. Of course, we all expect better from Mr. 10 months and counting!

Mike, Concord Lincoln Mercury did that to my car. They replaced it free obviously, but they learned their lesson. I still have the sticker on it too.

That's the sign of good service. Replace it no questions asked, and then never do it again!! The mechanic was almost as pissed at himself as I was (pissed at myself the other day)!!!

so the ****ty saga of Elky continues...
i got the brakes done on both sides of the car and climb under to put in the control arm.
upper bolt goes in and the nut goes on.
loser bolt into the spindle starts nicely and is on its way in..starts to get a little tough (it was tough to get out) so i figured it was normal.
yes i did clean the threads first.
when (you guessed it) *SNAP*
the little fugger breaks!
of course i dont own any easy outs nor a drill bit hard enough to drill into the fuggin bolt.
it is way too stuck to get out with vice grips, beside i only have about 1/2 an inch of threads to play with.

YIPPIEE FOR ELKY!!!!!!!!
LIfe can't get much worse.

and to think i was supposed to start changing my roomates intake gasket on her blazer tonight, after i finished the svt.

frown frown frown frown mad mad

Elky, I did the same thing when I jacked up my car to change my fuel filter... The guy at Ford told me he knew a few people that have done it before... The installation of mine went a bit smoother than you though... -Nick

Elky, keep all the flamable liquids away from your car. Sounds like there's a short list of things that haven't gone wrong for you...and a car fire is one of them!

eek
