I certainly agree that your best bet to find quality materials at a good price is through a body shop supply place. You may have to open an acount with them but it would be well worth it with the ammount of money you'll save buying wholesale.

Andrew - very well put in regards to the "worst case/best case" scenario's. Elky - You've b33n OWN3D for 9 friggin months boy!! JSmith - I agree. I will need to look into that. One more thing - Andrew, Please find out what he uses to take the wax off the black plastic. I currently use Alcohol swabs/towelltes which does a good job. Thanks guys.

Thanks guys. OK I just used this stuff on my tires...I am not a fan of the 'tire dressings' that people (including my detailer) use. It just loads crap on top of brake dust, tar, etc. What a joke. This stuff is awesome. At 1st I thought I was like melting my tires, as it seems to have 'softened' the rubber at 1st, but in reality it seems to have merely lifted a lot of embedded crap off the rubber. The tires look 'new' as in really new, that fresh rubber appearance, not shiny, not 'wet', but new. Anyhow enough rambling - the stuff is called "Auto Fit Refinish System Restorer" The manufacturer is Vosschemie, and to be honest I don't even know where it's made...it appears to be a sprokets production...here is the company address Esinger Steinweg 50 25436 Uetersen You can "telefon" them at 0 41 22 71 70. Just tell them that Claus sent you Go on google.com and look it up for more info. The vendor around here is Crown Auto Body Supply in Salem, MA. It costs $30/liter, but my friend gets it at cost for $20/liter. (See get terms and an account at the auto supply shop!) It must be 1/2 decent since it (a) it works (b) it has directions in 12 languages on the can so they sell a lot of it and (c) if a dinky body supply shop in Salem MA carries it, there must be a reason for it. Good luck!

Andrew! Thanks a lot man! Great info. I'm not a big fan of tire dressing either. However, whatever the customer wants...hehe The main thing is - its just super messy! all that crap all over the car when you first drive it. uggh! Anyway - I am more of a "clean" tire.....natural blackness.....a little bit of enhancement is fine with me.... Sounds like we're both on the same page here!!

Check out Zaino tire treatment. It does exactly what you guys are talking about, and does not spray off during driving. Just thought I'd chime in.

I use the Turtle Wax tire dressing stuff...no "spin off" and lasts for over a week. Hey I'm interested in your detailing services too...this is a great idea. I never have the time to do what I want to my car!

damnit! I knew page 2 was around here somewhere! Again, the more the better for me!! I will post the services/prices later on tonight. I left the file at home.....Gives you an idea of what steps I'll take for different services. Maybe we can hookup one day and I'll take care of it....or if worse comes to worse, at the DMD meet, I will wash it as a car wash and then do the rest at Mr. Ten'ers oops....Elky's house.

Another detailing tidbit I learned today:
If you use spray detailer on a car after you have rinsed it off (from being washed with soap) but before you dry it, it comes out awesome...I used Mothers Showtime detailer.
The detailer acts as a lubricant, and it also adds smoothness and a deep shine.
My detailer buddy told me about it and I didn't believe him. I'll do this more often now. It also made drying the car faster.

hehehe. I've been doing that for a while now. In fact, I couldn't help but snicker a bit when I saw that Meguiars came up with a "wax" that you spray before you dry bottle the other day. Basically, its the same as the QD (Quick Detailer). I agree, especially if you have a good layer of wax already on the car. However, when you wash it with Dawn, you're probably not doing much for yourself other than wasting the spray. Remember - QD'ing ONLY really works well with fresh wax on it. When QD becomes a PITA to wipe off, It's TIME TO RE-WAX!!!
