Yes, its time to start planning for the largest yearly event for NE-CEG!!
The 3rd annual NE-CEG meet at Fun Ford Weekend in Epping NH (August 17 & 18)
You read it right, two days of all Ford fun!! There will be 1/4 mile runs for those who would like to run, a car show, and of course the fun of having all us crazy Contour peeps together for two whole daze!!!! The first year was very small, only 3 or 4 Tours were there the whole weekend, and I only had my car for over 1 month at the time! Last year was awsome though! All except for Ryan's alternator problem, everything went off without a hitch! Mike (AKA SVTstyle), and Pat (AKA SVTdriver762) ran the 1/4 mile, and one of the Tour guys won a prize in the car show. (I forget who it was. Paul would know though) I met a lot of new people then, and hope to meet all or most of the newbies this year! This is the closest Contour event of the year, so don't miss it!!!!! By the way, I don't work for New England Dragway.
Here's the plan. You can go either day or both, although I recommend both. If you want to go both days but are concerned that its a little too far to drive back and forth, and don't want to pay for a hotel, then stay at our place. There's should be enough room for people to come and stay, as long as some of you bring tents. We could have a small camping trip right at our house, and a cookout (Elky, get more tips!!)!! We are only about 20mins to a 1/2 hour away from NE Dragway, and its all highway. We should have enough parking, and if some need to park in the street, we can box the tours in with the Grand Marquis and the GL eventhough its not a busy street (I'm anal!!)
So I'd like to hear from all NE-CEGers!! Wheather you want to go or not, (if you don't we won't flog you!
), which days you will be going, and if you want to stay at our place (the MA, CT, and RI peeps have first dibs!). Please add anything that I may have forgotten!
