On I-84W the other night around 3am in the fast lane going about 90. cop pulls me over  and says he can arrest me for reckless driving. well he didn't but rights me up at 85 and a nice $300 ticket. reckless?? ME?? GRRRRRRRRRR!!!

What pisses me off about tickets like this is...who, exactly, are you hurting? At 3 am on an interstate, how many cars are on the road in any given 10 mile strech of four lane highway? 1 maybe. So if no one is getting hurt by your driving (relatively) fast...and your (marginally) endangering only yourself...than who cares? I would wager that you would be endangering yourself and dozens of other motorists at a much higher level (statistically) if you were doing 70mph at 3 pm vs 90pmh @ 3 am. That sux bad man...think of what $300 would have got you in mods.

Anyone out at 3:00 am is a target. They could probably care less about your speeding. They were looking for a bigger score.

ElKy, the thing I find funny about your ticket is that EVERYONE does about 85 in a 65 on Rt. 395. I drove it today in the morning (just to go out for a drive). It's nice until 395 becomes 290 in Worcester.

I'm just saying that on some highways, cops patrol constantly and on others they're a bit more lenient. I wasn't targeting your ticket specifically; just that for 84 in a 65 probably wouldn't be written up for in I395 (the one highway I frequently travel). Plus I guess I just had to throw in my two (now worthless) cents ... :p
