I asked my mom to view that page of all the seacoast campgrounds. she's stayed at Tidewater before and says it's a decent place. real close to the beach too. She also mentioned Wakeda, but Jay and I were viewing their website the other night and it mentioned coin-op showers. (which bites in my opinion). I will try to call Tidewater this week to get the lowdown on what they can do for us. We really need to build a list of those interested to help get an idea of how many sites we'll need and things like that.

i heard tidewater was good also! a few friends of ours went there and they liked it. coin-op showers aren't that bad. 1 quarter is usually good for 6 minutes..... every place i've been to has coin-op showers...i guess i'm sorta used to them....but it ain't that bad... the key here is parking space, ample camping space, and NOT SO STRICT rules cause you know what that would mean to this group.... pack your shiz up and get the hizz-out!! haha

pack your shiz up and get the hizz-out!! haha that would be a bad thing. If there's coin operated showers, that no real biggie, as long as they are clean and the water is warm.

I spent a little time looking through the differnt websites of various campgrounds and I picked a few I liked and sent E-mails requesting more information. the sites I'm e-mailing are: Tuxbury Pond www.holipub.com/tuxbury/ Wakeda Campground www.wakedacampground.com Wadleigh Falls Campground www.wadleighfalls.com When I receive replies to my e-mails I'll post up summaries of the replies so this way we can make a decision on which site we'd like to go to. Of course if anyonw knows of another site I didn't list share it with us and we'll considder it as well.

well apparently wakeda campground does not have an e-mail adress, and the e-mail adress for tuxbury pond in not working.
Maybe someone from the area can make phone calls (to avoid long distance charges) to the sites and get extra information we need to make our decision. Or make a reply and we'll work something out.

I am hoping to make some of those calls sometime this week amidst my job hunting.

I received a reply from Wadleigh campground. They also have coin-op showers, just like about every other place I looked at.
Their rates are $23 a night for a site with water and electricity in a wooded area, $25 a night for a site with water and electricity in a wooded site near the river.

well I finally got around to do a little more snooping on these campsites (still doing a little more but thought I'd note the things I've discovered so far).
these damn people are strict!
Tidewater (which is where my parents are at this entire week) says that they limit only 2 adults per site, with only 1 tent per site, there's limited assurance on water hookup and availability for electric sites. 10:00 quiet hours starts, 11:00 fires must be snuffed out $26 per night. coin op showers and only 1 car per site i was so frazzled about the adult limits, I didn't ask if they had overflow parking for other vehicles. I was hoping it'd be better than this since they're so close. the tents we have could fit 4 adults very comfortably, so we could probably sneak people onto the sites. I'm still disappointed. (what's the interest count right now anyway? roughly 8 people?)
upon viewing the website for Wakeda. $24.50 per night w/ water & electricity 2 adult limit as well, but you can pay $5 more per adult for additional adults BUT you can only have max of 4 adults per site (pfft, how do they regulate this adult per site stuff?) website doesn't mention limits on number of tents per site. I'll have to call them for more details.
ugh anyway I'm frustrated with this for now. maybe I'll continue with it tomorrow. there are more campgrounds to be looked into obviously still.

I spent a bunch of time looking over Wakeda's website. They seem to be the better of the two you posted.
I know they say max of 2 adults per site and $5 for each additional adult with a max of 4 adults per site. If you figure it out thats about $35 per night, and split that between 4 people and its less than $10 per person per night.
I think that when they say max of 4 adults per site they mean 4 adults sleeping at a site. If there's say, 15 of us and we all want to hang out at one site until we get to fires out time or whatever, I don't think that there will be a problem as long as not more than 4 adults are sleeping at one site.
But I think thats a good question to ask. I doubt that they are saying no more than 4 adults at a site at any time becasue thats just asanine.
Remember, these are family campgrounds, and I'm sure these regulations are set to prevent loud, obnoxious, drunken parties from going on. As long as we behave and don't get loud and roudy I think everything will be fine.
